At VPLS Solutions, my time is split around 20/80 between pre-sales and post-sales engineering. On the pre-sales side, I function as a consultant to provide customers with advice and a project plan for achieving their network and security-related goals. On the post-sales side, I become the assigned engineer to actually get the project done!

I spent my workweek at Fortinet as a Technical Account Manager. My primary responsibility was to support my enterprise customers with their FortiGate (Fortinet's NGFW), and a handful of other Fortinet products. In addition to troubleshooting, I also am responsible for bug reproduction and reporting, as well as creating KB articles and training material.

My final position at GM was a Data Center Network Engineer, where my engineering duties revovled around GM's two $150M data centers. I worked primarily with Cisco Nexus equipment, but also worked on other Cisco devices, such as routers and Catalyst switches.
Before this position, I worked as a Network Operations Engineer in the NOC.
May 2012 - May 2013
At Seminole Electric, I was a System Operations Intern while completing the last year of my electrical engineering degree. In this position, I was exposed to many aspects of IT due to the daily requirements of this small team.
While at Seminole, I took part in a security audit that held the network accountable to strict NERC CIP requirements. Going beyond networking, I also learned many skills in Windows Server Administration and SCADA systems.
June 2012 - Aug 2013
Pedestal, a smartphone-connected pill box aimed to address patient challenges with medication adherence. This project started as my senior design project in college. I eventually presented Pedestal at the Florida Healthcare Innovation Competition and won a cash prize.
